Ramires vs Claude Makélélé in EA FC 27: which card is better?

Ramires (Base Hero, 86) and Claude Makélélé (Base Icon, 88) are two CDM cards who can also play at RM and CM, both with the Holding role and the Intercept PlayStyle+. They suit the same slot in a squad, but they get there in different ways.

Ramires is the more mobile card: PAC 88, DRI 82, 4-star skill moves, sprint speed 89 and acceleration 87, plus Chip Shot and Pinged Pass. Makélélé is the stronger destroyer: DEF 88, PHY 87, defensive awareness 92, interceptions 90 and aggression 90, with Block and Anticipate on top. If you want a midfielder who carries the ball and presses high, Ramires fits. If you want a wall in front of the back line, Makélélé fits better.

I would pick Makélélé for a pure defensive anchor and Ramires for a box-to-box CDM who runs and passes. Both are eligible for Evolutions, so you can still build on either.
